WorkDrive Desktop TrueSync application version 3.8.3

WorkDrive Desktop TrueSync application version 3.8.3

[Beta] WorkDrive Desktop TrueSync application on macOS based on File Provider Extension (FPE)

The WorkDrive TrueSync application for macOS has been redesigned based on the Apple File Provider Extension (FPE). This architectural shift accommodates both Intel and Apple silicon-based devices, delivering an enriched user experience.

With FPE, users can effortlessly access, edit, manage, and synchronize WorkDrive files and folders without the requirement to enable any third-party extensions under Preferences.

To experience this transformative shift, simply download our latest WorkDrive TrueSync application Version 3.8.3 (Beta) for macOS: [Download link]

System and software requirements

  1. Supported devices: Apple silicon (M1, M2, & M3 chip) and Intel-based Mac devices
  2. Supported OS versions: macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
  3. Supported WorkDrive TrueSync app version: Version 3.8.3 (Beta) or later

Eligibility

If your system meets the above requirements, you can enable and start using the WorkDrive TrueSync application without any issues. Otherwise, an error screen will explain why you can't update to this version.

Enable File Provider Extension

If you've updated your WorkDrive TrueSync application to version 3.8.3 (Beta) or later, you'll need to provide consent to utilize the File Provider Extension the first time you use it.

Important: The prompt to enable FPE will only appear until you grant consent. Giving consent to this message is not related to any third-party usage; it is default FPE behavior.
  1. Click the WorkDrive TrueSync icon in the menu bar. The pop-up menu will open.
  2. Click the Folder icon at the top to access your current TrueSync storage location.

  3. Click Enable in the top-right corner to utilize the WorkDrive TrueSync application.
Note: If you do not enable the File Provider Extension, you cannot access the WorkDrive TrueSync application on macOS.

Important:

Check if you are using an older version (less than 3.8.2) of WorkDrive TrueSync on your Apple silicon-based devices (such as Mac M1, M2, or M3). If so, you may have adjusted your security settings to Reduced security in the Recovery environment.

You can now install our latest WorkDrive TrueSync application FPE version with Full security in the Recovery environment.

To turn on Full security in the Recovery environment, follow the steps in this documentation: Set security policy in recovery mode
